My First Solo Trip: Discovering Wrightsville BeachWhen you love someone, you start to love the things they love. My fiancé, a native Alexandrian, grew up going to the Outer Banks in North Carolina. I, however, grew up in the land-locked state of Colorado and spent precious little time at the beach. A recent solo trip to Wilmington, North Carolina was only my second visit to coastal North Carolina. I crossed into Wrightsville Beach early on a Sunday afternoon, a six-hour drive. Another option is to fly into Wilmington International Airport (American Airlines from DCA or seasonal Avelo Airlines flights from BWI). |
