New Hanover County Tourism Development Authority Announces New Appointment to Board of Directors and Resolution in Support of City of Wilmington Parks Bond Referendum
Wilmington, N.C.: Kim Hufham, President/CEO of the New Hanover County Tourism Development Authority (TDA), announces that Daniel Perkins, Assistant General Manager of the Hilton Wilmington Riverside, has been appointed to the TDA Board of Directors to represent Wilmington Hotels (150+ rooms). Perkins’ appointment fills a previously vacant position that expires December 31, 2017.
In other TDA news, at their regular Board meeting on August 31, 2016, the New Hanover County Tourism Development Authority Board of Directors voted, unanimously, to support the City of Wilmington’s proposed $30.4 million Parks Bond Referendum. The Resolution in support of the Parks Bond Referendum was signed by Frank Jones, Chairman of the New Hanover County TDA.
The TDA Resolution cites sports tourism as a growing travel market and that more sports facilities are needed to meet demand and remain competitive in attracting sporting events.
